Equity Highlight: Supreme Ventures Limited

Founded in 1995, Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) is the leading gaming and entertainment group in Jamaica and the region. It has a well-diversified betting, gaming, and lottery operation in Jamaica and has been expanding to new markets, including Guyana and South Africa. The company began operations in June 2001 with three of its current games: Cash Pot, Lucky 5 and Dollaz. The Group has seen exponential growth over the past 19 years, as it has added to its offering 8 additional numbers games, sports betting, gaming lounges and other entertainment. The company is listed on the Jamaican Stock Exchange. 

According to the Supreme Ventures Group Annual Report 2020, the Group recorded gross ticket sales of 76.3 Billion JMD, a 4.3 percent growth over 2019. The increase in Gross Ticket Sales of $3.2 Billion, year over year, was driven mainly by Lottery ($2 Billion, 4 percent) and an increase of $1.2 billion or 44 percent in Sports Betting revenues. Net profit after tax was $2.42 billion representing a decline of $52.69 million or 2.13 percent over prior year. 

Additionally, SVL’s stock price has increased by 2.8 percent since the start of the year to $18.09 as of August 31, 2021. It has traded at a 52-week range of $12.00- $22.00. The total earning per share of 90.15 cents allowed shareholders to receive dividends of 80 cents for the year. Total dividends paid to stockholders during the year amounted to  $1.9 billion, representing a dividend yield of 4.1 percent (SVG Annual Report 2020).

Significant strides were made in 2020 due to the company reporting tremendous success on its virtual gaming on its upgraded Just Bet Mobile App, its successful launch of a new pick-one game, Hot Pick; the revamping and relaunching of its SV Games App with improved functionalities, an expanded game portfolio and increased accessibility for users on Android, iOS and Windows operating systems.


One of the landmark successes was the launch of the super popular Cash Pot game in South Africa. This move, part of the Group’s expansion strategy, demonstrates the dexterity of SVL’s brand in entering international markets.
